Dermaplaning: Reveal your skin's best self

DERMAPLANING AT Oceren Skin Care Spa

What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates the skin. It’s like a mini-face lift, because it removes dead cells and fine hairs, which leaves your skin looking brighter, smoother, and younger. It also helps with acne because it gets rid of bacteria-filled oil glands.

You can have dermaplaning  done at Oceren Skin Care Spa by one of our experienced aestheticians!

How dermaplaning Works?

The Dermaplaning procedure is quick and easy. Your licensed aesthetician will use a special scalpel to gently scrape away dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This process removes the dull outer layer of your skin so that newer healthier cells may grow in their place.

Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair off your face, revealing fresh new skin beneath. It’s great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving the texture of your skin.

It’s done with a sharpened tool called a dermaroller or dermapen, which resembles an eyeliner pencil. The tool has tiny blades that scrape away dead skin cells and vellus hair from your face, leaving you with a smooth canvas for makeup application or for wearing no makeup at all!

dermaplaning is good for all skin types

Dermaplaning is good for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin, who may not be able to use a chemical peel. Dermaplaning doesn’t contain any chemicals or acids, so it’s the best option for people who are allergic to ingredients found in other peels.

Dermaplaning is also great for those who have acne-prone skin because it helps exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells on your face, which can help prevent clogged pores and blackheads from forming. Dermaplaning also makes your skin feel smoother and softer because it sloughs off dead skin cells, which can make your complexion appear duller if left on the surface of your face.

What is the difference between Dermaplaning vs. Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion and dermaplaning are both exfoliation techniques that can rejuvenate your skin. These treatments are often used to improve the texture, tone, and appearance of your skin.

There are some differences between these two procedures, however.

Microdermabrasion uses crystals to gently remove dead skin cells from the surface of your face in order to reveal newer, healthier skin underneath. Microdermabrasion does not remove any actual layers of skin from your face like dermaplaning does. Instead, microdermabrasion is an exfoliating treatment that uses crystals to gently scrub away dead skin cells without damaging healthy tissue or removing layers of skin.

Dermaplaning, on the other hand, is a procedure that involves shaving off the top layer of dead skin cells using a scalpel in order to reveal newer, healthier layers underneath. This procedure can be performed by a professional esthetician at a spa.

Is Dermaplaning painful?

Dermaplaning is not painful; it actually feels quite soothing. The sensation is similar to that of a light massage, and you can expect your skin to be pink and slightly swollen afterward.

Can women who are pregnant / breastfeeding be treated with Dermaplaning?

We are happy to treat pregnant and breastfeeding women. We will just need to check with your doctor to ensure that it is safe for you to get a treatment.
