Essential Steps of HydraFacial AfterCare

Facial AT Oceren Skin Care Spa

Schedule Regular Follow-up Visits With Your Esthetician

After the HydraFacial, you will be given a set of aftercare instructions. These instructions are designed to help you maintain the results of your treatment and prevent any adverse effects from occurring. The most important thing to remember is to follow these instructions very carefully. It is also important to schedule regular follow-up visits with your esthetician so he or she can monitor your progress and ensure that all is going well.

Wear SPF daily

HydraFacial is a great treatment for your skin, but it’s important to remember that it won’t work on its own. You’ll need to follow up with good habits, like wearing SPF daily, to keep your new skin looking its best.

Avoid makeup for up to 24 hours

After a HydraFacial treatment, you may notice that your skin is red and slightly swollen. This is normal and will subside in a few hours. In the meantime, we ask that you avoid makeup for up to 24 hours. This will help ensure that your skin heals properly and reduces the risk of irritation. If you do choose to wear makeup, use only non-comedogenic products (i.e., those designed not to clog pores).

Moisturize Your Skin Regularly

The HydraFacial is designed to thoroughly cleanse your skin and remove impurities, but it also leaves your skin feeling tight and dry. To help combat this, you should moisturize your skin regularly. Use a gentle moisturizer that’s made for sensitive skin and avoid products that contain alcohol or menthol.

If you have oily or acne-prone skin, you may want to use a gel-based oil-free moisturizer once or twice per day. If your skin is dryer, you may want to use a cream-based product with glycerin on your face every day.

Use Gentle Cleansers

You should avoid using anything abrasive or strong enough to strip your skin of its natural oils. The best products for this are mild and fragrance-free so that they don’t irritate your face or eyes. You should also avoid using anything with alcohol in it, as this can dry out your skin and make it more vulnerable to acne and other issues.

Don't Pick at Your Skin

Picking at your skin is a big no-no. It will cause more damage to your skin than it will help, and in the end, you’ll be left with scars that can be difficult to get rid of. It’s best to leave your face alone for at least 24 hours after getting a HydraFacial. If you need to wash your face, use cool water and don’t use any cleansers or scrubs. Just massage your face with your fingertips in circular motions.
